Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is the philosophy behind Inner Balance classes? (Click here to expand for answers)

My classes prioritize cultivating inner balance, mindfulness, and holistic well-being. Each class is 75 minutes in duration uniting body, mind and soul in a single transformative session. It is a unique blend of 15 minutes of energising and calming breathwork, 45 minutes of yoga movements in stillness, and 15 minutes of blissful mindfulness meditation.
In each class, I explain the eastern philosophies through the lens of modern western science so you understand the why and how to make it your own knowledge to practice in your daily life.
Q: Why do you start with breathwork in your classes? (Click here to expand for answers)

Breath bridges the gap between the mind and body, fostering a deeper connection and self-awareness. In yogic tradition it is considered a way to connect with the life force within, leading to self-awareness and personal growth.
There are over fourteen different types of breathwork in yoga tradition for different aspects of the physical body, mind and soul. I choose the breathwork combination that is appropriate for each class depending on the needs of yogis that day, season and type of yoga class. The 15 mins breathwork alone can give you numerous benefits such as:

Benefits for your body: Enhances lung capacity; Stimulates blood circulation; Provides a natural energy boost by increasing oxygen supply; Aids in removing toxins from the body by expelling carbon dioxide and waste products; Massages the abdominal organs, aiding digestion and relieving digestive issues; Reduces the perception of pain by triggering the body's natural pain-relieving mechanisms; Shown to lower blood pressure and reduce the risk of heart disease by improving cardiovascular function.
Benefits for your mind:
Activates the parasympathetic nervous system, promoting relaxation and reducing stress and anxiety levels. Clears the mind, improves focus, and sharpens cognitive function, leading to increased mental clarity and better decision-making.

Q: Why do you finish your classes with somatic mindfulness meditation? (Click here to expand for answers)

Somatic mindfulness deepens your awareness of bodily sensations, helping you connect with your physical and emotional experiences and bringing a harmonious closure to your practice. It fosters a deeper understanding of your body's signals, thoughts, and feelings and builds emotional resilience, enabling you to navigate life's ups and downs more gracefully.
Q: Are all your classes the same? (Click here to expand for answers)

Each of my classes offers a unique experience, blending distinct breathwork, yoga styles (Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin, and Somatic Yoga), and mindfulness meditation themes. I teach only one class per day and you can get a glimpse into my weekly schedule in the section outside the FAQ box.
For those accustomed to dynamic practices like hot yoga, Bikram, Iyengar, or Ashtanga, my classes may seem gentler in nature. There's no definitive right or wrong in yoga; your choice reflects your lifestyle preference at this point in life. Which might change as things always shift and change..
My sessions cater to those seeking a mindful way of life, absent of competition or self-judgment. There are no challenges in my classes, nothing to prove to yourself or others. Embrace the journey of inner balance that radiates outward, shaping a harmonious existence.
